DALLAS-(PR-Newswire) Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths welcomes Transparency in Science.

Italian-American scientist Dario Crosetto expresses his gratitude to IEEE-NSS-MIC-RTSD General Chair and NSS Chairs for supporting Transparency in Science.

They approved his six articles for presentation, their titles available at the conference program (https://www.eventclass.org/contxt_ieee2024/scientific/online-program/session?s=N-29), each supported by two pages accepted by reviewers, allocating Crosetto nearly two hours on October 31, 2024, 16:20 EST to  present his 3D-Flow and 3D-CBS breakthrough inventions on particle detection and cancer detection at the world’s most important conference in particle physics and medical imaging, in Tampa, Florida, where 2,000 scientists will gather.

Crosetto will demonstrate his inventions’ superiority in flexibility, performance, and cost-effectiveness, compared to all current and past projects in the field. His inventions provide powerful cost-efficient tools to physicists for discovering new particles and doctors to detect tumors with as few as 100 cancer cells —long before the 1,000,000 cells needed for detection by CT, MRI, mammograms.

He challenges his colleagues to provide references to any current or past project, funded or unfunded, able to match his 3D-Flow and 3D-CBS flexibility, performance, and cost, with potential to deliver superior results in discovering particles, reducing premature cancer deaths and lowering healthcare costs.

Given that unrefuted calculations and claims demonstrate Crosetto’s inventions could have saved millions of lives, billions of dollars, and advanced science and technology in multiple fields, experts from CERN, Science Academies, and in particular the Pontifical Academy of Sciences —boasting 86 past and present Nobel Laureate members —take responsibility by attending (in person or remotely) his presentations. He urges them to provide references to calculations and demonstrations of any project/idea having a greater potential to reduce cancer deaths and costs.

Funding agencies, spending $2 trillion annually on research and development, and government institutions responsible for delivering the best services to their employees and citizens, along with the 236 wealthy individuals of the Giving Pledge —who commit to donating the majority of their wealth to philanthropy —and entrepreneurs committed to funding impactful projects, are invited to consider contributing just 0.00000067 of the over $30,000,000,000,000 already spent on R&D since Crosetto’s inventions. This would enable him to build two 3D-CBS devices and allow experimental results to be the final judgement.

3D-FLOW OPRA for Level-1 Trigger: A Breakthrough Invention Capable of Extracting ALL Valuable Information from Radiation Providing a Very Powerful Tool to Discover New Particles, Reduce HEP Costs, Advance Science and Benefit Humanity

Dario B. Crosetto – Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths – DeSoto, TX, Member, IEEE

Abstract—The 3D-Flow OPRA Level-1 Trigger system is capable of extracting ALL valuable information from radiation, which can save taxpayers millions of dollars in HEP experiments. Unlike the traditional Level-1 Trigger algorithm implementation in “cabled-logic”, or the CERN-CMS approach of executing 128 algorithms, or the costly lower performant FPGA approach, the 3D-Flow architecture allows the execution of billions of different algorithms like a generic processor but has the advantage over any Pentium, Hypercube, or other processor/architecture in that it can execute specialized instructions (or “OPRA steps” for an optimized Object Pattern Real-Time Recognition Algorithm) to identify particles with the capability to execute at each “step” up to 26 operations in less than 3 ns. The 3D-Flow performance is further increased by its bypass switch and North East West South communication channels with neighbors. The 3D-Flow pyramid provides reduction from thousands of input channels to one or a few output channels. A 3D-Flow system with 10,485 Gbps input bandwidth, 8,192 electronic input channels, 43,000 x 3D-Flow processors and the capability to execute up to 40 “OPRA steps” on each processor is technology-independent, feasible in a 36 cm cube of electronics consuming less than 5 kW at a cost of less than $10.70 per channel. The 3D-Flow conceptual design allows the input data rate and the complexity of the real-time algorithm to increase satisfying the most stringent requirements, and can be used for tracking applications. It was proven feasible and functional in hardware using two FPGA chips in 2001 and two modular electronic boards in 2003, suitable to build 3D-Flow systems for detectors of any size. The inventor has faced many adversities and suppressions that have delayed its implementation. This caused a monetary burden on taxpayers and curbed the advancement of science that calls for an investigation to fix science as stated in the October 2018 issue of Scientific American.

3D-FLOW OPRA: A Revolutionary Electronic Instrument Maximizing Performance, Flexibility And Cost-Effectiveness For Detection And Imaging Technology

Dario B. Crosetto – Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths – DeSoto, TX, Member, IEEE

Abstract— The 3D-Flow OPRA is a new electronic instrument and device targeted to solve problems of Detection and Imaging Technology. It has the capability to detect multi-dimensional objects in real time on data arriving in parallel from a matrix of thousands of transducers at ultra-high speed sent to an equivalent matrix of thousands of 3D-Flow processors which execute programmable Object Pattern Recognition Algorithms (OPRA) with neighboring data exchange (3×3, 5×5, ..). The bypass switch of the 3D-Flow architecture allows the execution of uninterruptable algorithms for a time longer than the interval between two consecutive input data sets. The 3D-Flow pyramid provides reduction from thousands of input channels to one or a few output channels. The 3D-Flow processors can execute in one “OPRA step” up to 26 operations in less than 3 ns. It compares the reference object (shape) with billions of objects per second while sustaining an input data rate of several million frames per second with zero dead-time. It can measure all kinds of phenomena and identify all kinds of objects in 3-D that create an electrical signal in response to physical stimuli (e.g. from CCD, APD, PMT, SiPM, PADs, etc.). It provides advanced triggering capabilities. A 3D-Flow system with max 12,800 Gbps input bandwidth, 10,000 electronic input channels, 50,000 x 3D-Flow processors and the capability to execute up to 40 “OPRA steps” on each processor is technology-independent, feasible in a 36 cm cube of electronics consuming less than 6 kW at a cost of less than $15 per channel. The 3D-Flow conceptual design allows to increase input data rate and the complexity of the real-time algorithm to satisfy the most stringent requirements. The inventor has faced many adversities and suppressions that have delayed its implementation. This caused a monetary burden on taxpayers and curbed the advancement of science that calls for an investigation to fix science as stated in the Oct. 2018 issue of Scientific American.

3D-CBS: The first true paradigm change in biomedical imaging invented 23 years ago, confirmed by measured results to enable a safe, very early lifesaving cancer detection. Why hasn’t it been funded?
Who is responsible for millions of needless deaths?

Dario B. Crosetto – Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths – DeSoto, TX, Member, IEEE

Abstract—The ultra-sensitive 3D-CBS (3-D Complete Body Screening) technology PET/CT based on the 3D-Flow invention for particle detection is targeted to significantly reduce cancer deaths and healthcare costs and is the first true paradigm change in biomedical imaging because it offers four advantages no other device can offer simultaneously: 1) an effective early detection of anomalous biological processes and diseases such as cancer at a highly curable stage, including improved diagnosis, prognosis and effective monitoring of treatments, as it is capable of detecting less than 150 Bq activity in humans; 2) a radiation dose 1% of current PET devices, 3) a 2-minute effective screening examination covering all organs of the body, and 4) a very low examination cost, less expensive, and more effective that can replace mammograms, PAP tests, colonoscopies, PSA tests, and others. It is capable of extracting ALL valuable information from radiation (spatial, time and energy resolution and sensitivity) related to biological processes at the lowest cost per valid signal captured from tumor markers. This task is achieved with the technology-independent 3D-Flow system, feasible in a 16 cm cube of electronics consuming less than 2 kW, and costing less than $18 per channel; it has an input bandwidth of 2,949 Gbps, 2,304 electronic input channels, 14,400 x 3D-Flow processors and the capability to execute up to 40 x 26 operations on each processor. Based on the measurements of 5.7 MBq radiation dose or 18.75 second exam time on the EXPLORER device using 18.1 mm thick LYSO crystals to obtain “Diagnostic quality” images, the 3D-CBS with its 30 mm thick BGO crystals and 1.5m FOV can claim 1/7 the radiation dose or 1/7 the examination time at 1/44 the cost of the EXPLORER per valid signal captured. A study shows the 3D-CBS invented in 2000 and suppressed for 23 years could have saved 39 million lives and $10 trillion and could save over 100 million lives and $27 trillion in the next 30 years.

3D-CBS: Features, Implementation and Usage Targeted to Reduce More than 50 percent of
Premature Cancer Deaths and Costs

Dario B. Crosetto – Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths – DeSoto, TX, Member, IEEE

Abstract – BACKGROUND – 3D-CBS (3-D Complete Body Screening): first true paradigm change in biomedical imaging invented 23 years ago, confirmed by third party measured results on a 3D-CBS copy as able to safely detect clusters (tumors) of 100 cancer cells instead of millions of cells. MATERIALS AND METHODS – 157cm-FOV 3D-CBS capable of detecting all possible 511keV-pairs of photons from the tumor markers at the lowest cost/valid pair captured, with components costing less than $2,000,000/device, $200/2-minute screening test, and $1,200/15-minute clinical exam, in two 8-hour shifts can safely perform 360×2-minute tests, 8×15-minute exams. It is estimated 48 professionals/day are needed: 8 administrators, 4 logicians, 8 nurses, 8 technologists and 20 doctors; each doctor reading 16-20 screening tests/day for 22 minutes each, and 1 clinical exam for 68 minutes. People must perform several screening tests on the same machine, using the same protocol and radiation dose. To avoid false positives, the diagnosis will not be based on a single screening test but on the Total-Body Computer-Aided Diagnosis (TB-CAD) tool calculating the trend of anomalies in several screening tests and radiologists’ experience. Several screenings tests reveal unique hotspots showing increased activity/size of an anomalous biological process requiring deeper investigation (15-minute clinical examination). Screening tests before/after surgery detect if any cancer cells have been left over and monitor for recurrences at an early curable stage. RESULTS – 90,000/test/year/device, 57billion tests/30-year on 57,000x3D-CBS devices built gradually over 30 years can save over 100,000,000 lives and over $27trillion. CONCLUSIONS – Because early cancer detection can save up to 98% lives, an experimental test on a sample population using this approach based on the TB-CAD trend calculated over several 3D-CBS screening tests will prove definitively that we can save millions of lives and trillions of dollars.

Over 39M lives needlessly lost from cancer in the past 23 years, and 69M more over the next 7 years because scientists’ goal for PET is to take beautiful pictures and crushed my invention to cost-effectively measure biophysiology
Dario B. Crosetto – Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths – DeSoto, TX, Member, IEEE

Abstract – BACKGROUND – From the year 2000 articles, funding and presentations to conferences of my inventions targeted to save many lives have been suppressed and continue to be suppressed. MATERIALS AND METHODS – My calculations of the year 2000 that the 3D-CBS could detect tumors with only 100 cancer cells was proven with measurements by a third party in 2019 on a copy of my idea. In the year 2002 in a recorded one-day meeting with the President and Director of PET of Siemens I demonstrated that it was not necessary to use expensive LSO crystals but that BGO was fine. Only in 2020 was it recognized that I was right and BGO was back. In 2000, using a professional language for scientists, I tried to explain in articles and hundreds of conferences at research centers and universities that PET should measure biophysiology and not take a beautiful picture. Then I changed it into a language understandable to high school students and laymen and finally Prof. Iwao Kanno recognized it in 2021. My powerful tool of the year 2017 to identify what works and doesn’t in the past and future to save lives and costs and my TB-CAD (Total-Body Computer-Aided Diagnosis) of the year 2021 continue to be suppressed from publications and presentations to conferences, causing the needless loss of 39-million lives in the past 23-years and 69-million lives in the next 7-years. We can fix this by holding accountable those scientists who would plagiarize and suppress colleagues’ innovations. RESULTS – Millions of lives and costs will be saved and young people will be instilled to trust the institutions by reporting and holding accountable scientists who plagiarize, boycott, bully and mob colleagues, and suppress innovations and advancement in science. CONCLUSIONS – The scientific truth cannot be suppressed forever, Galileo’s book was suppressed for 100-years, how long will it take and how many additional people will die before I am allowed to present my book, the Table and the TB-CAD?

Comparison Between the 3D-CBS Screening and the Liquid Bio and Other Screening of Cancer Procedures

Dario B. Crosetto – Crosetto Foundation for the Reduction of Cancer Deaths – DeSoto, TX, Member, IEEE

Abstract—This article provides the comparison between the expected results in cancer deaths and costs reduction from non-invasive cancer screening procedures. These two screening procedures are the 3D-CBS (3-D Complete Body Screening) and the Liquid Bio (Liquid Biopsy). A comparison will also be made on the efficacy of the officially approved and currently used mammography, colorectal and PAP-smear screening procedures in many countries. We should all face the same challenges against cancer, not a competition between each other, and should accept the efficacy test on a sample population in a specific location with respect to the mortality rate of the previous 20 years in the same location. The author’s 3D-CBS invention from the year 2000 can provide the features of a non-invasive, 2-minute, safe, low-cost, efficient, cancer-screening test, that can detect tumors with only 100 cancer cells that no other device can provide simultaneously. It revolutionizes medicine by recording anomalous biological processes simultaneously of the entire body, by basing the diagnosis on the trend of anomalies rather than from a single exam, by extracting patterns of pre-diseases formation, however the 3D-CBS was never funded. The Liquid Bio is a blood test aimed to detect a tumor’s mutational profile. It was announced in 2007 as a breakthrough in Time magazine. In 2012 at the WCC in Montreal was announced to provide a sensitivity greater than 94% and specificity greater than 91% in the early detection of the 4 big cancer killers, but the test was later abandoned. Liquid biopsy received conspicuous funding but did not produce results in cancer deaths reduction, although it has recently gained a lot of traction. Mammography and colorectal screening are not effective because there is no significant mortality rate difference between countries who do or don’t. PAP smear screening is effective but is a small percent of the total 10 million/year cancer deaths.
